The Cabinet Secretary of Defence on Monday, November 7, held a brief with the National Assembly Departmental Committee on Defence, Intelligence and Foreign Relations chaired by Hon. Nelson Koech – MP, Belgut Constituency.
According to Duale, they discussed on various issues including the deployment of Kenya Contingent (KENCOM) and the East Africa Community Regional Forces (EACRF) to peacekeeping and mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The deployment follows the heads of states summit of the EAC members states to restore peace, allow movement of humanitarian supplies and assist in the displacement.
“Alongside the Vice Chief of the Kenya Defence Forces, Lieutenant General Francis Ogolla, we pledged to entrench the defence and diplomatic cooperation between the two countries, as part of the larger strategy for regional peace and stability,” Duale said.
