Kenya to evacuate stranded citizens in UK at own cost

Kenyans stuck in the United Kingdom seeking to travel back in the country will do so at their own cost, Government says – By Prudence Wanza.

The Kenyans will use a Kenya Airways passenger flight destined for Nairobi from London which will depart on 4th May, 2020.

According to Kenya Airways post on its website, the flight is open to Kenyan citizens alone flying back home.

Kenyans wishing to travel back home on the flight have been advised to book directly at https://kenya-airways.com/en-uk/charter-flights and the Kenya Airways UK office.

The flight ticket will sell at Ksh 96,570 for business class while the economy class ticket is retailing at Ksh53, 954 per seat.

Kenya’s High commissioner to the UK Manoah Esipisu said the tickets are available for sale on a first come first served basis.

All the passangers will also be subjected to a mandatory quarantine period of 14-28 days imposed by the government as per the Ministry of Health guidelines.

The National carrier is also organizing for flights from Mumbai to Nairobi scheduled for May 7, 2020 and Guangzhou to Nairobi scheduled for May 8, 2020.
