Kenya’s COVID-19 Positivity Rate Reduces To 6.3 Percent

568 people have tested positive to the disease, from a sample size of 9,029 tested in the last 24 hours. This pushes Kenya’s positivity rate to 6.3%. – By Gerald Gekara.

The total confirmed positive cases are now 162,666, out of cumulative tests so far conducted are 1,710,414.

173 patients have recovered from the disease, 130 from the Home Based & Isolation Care, while 43 are from various health facilities countrywide.

The total number of recoveries is currently 110,653, with 80,316 coming from home-based care and isolation and 30,337 from multiple health facilities.

In the last 24 hours, 15 deaths have been confirmed, 5 of which happened on different dates during the last month and 10 of which are late death records from facility record audits. This brings the total number of people killed to 2,865.

There are 111 patients on supplementary oxygen, 103 of which are in general wards and 8 in High Dependency Units.

As of today, a total of 911,515 persons have so far been vaccinated against the COVID-19 disease countrywide. 

Of these 531,540S are aged 58 years and above plus others, Health workers, 160,468, Teachers 142,624, while Security Officers 76,578.
