Conman Stares At Jailterm Over KNH Fraud

A middle aged man was arraigned in court and charged with obtaining money by false pretense.

Erick Kithinji Mwiti appeared before Magistrate Caroline Muthoni and was charged with defrauding Abdi Ali Alio of Ksh 600,000 by falsely pretending he would assist the complaint’s daughter secure a job at Kenyatta National Hospital.

Furthermore, Mr. Mwiti is accused of obtaining Ksh 3,550,000 from Alio by convincing him that he would help him obtain drugs and sell them in Juba, South Sudan.

Mr. Mwiti is believed to have committed the two offenses between July 22, 2021 and September 29, 2021.

The accused person denied all the charges and he was released on a bond of Ksh 2m with an alternative cash bail of Ksh 1m.
