BY GERALD GEKARA – ODM aspirant Peter Orero has moved to appeal the ODM primaries that Imran Okoth won by a landslide.

After garnering 1,218 votes against Imran’s 4382, Orero feels he was cheated. According to Orero, Imran had access to the voters’ list, therefore ‘doctoring it in his favour.’

It is alleged that Imran had access during the issuance of bursary funds to Kibra residents as he had worked Constituency Development Fund (CDF) office before.

The Saturday primaries were entirely peaceful but marred with delays as many voters claimed their names were not on the list, despite taking part in voting during the 2017 general elections.

These were the results from Saturday’s Primaries :

  • John Milla Otieno – 906
  • Ben Musungu – 524
  • Christone Odhiambo – 417
  • Tony Ogola – 381
  • Stephen Okello – 228
  • Brian Owino – 127
  • Reuben Ojijo – 52
  • Eric Obayi – 45

The much anticipated Kibra by-elections will be held on November 7th, 2019.
