Kilifi Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Chairman Teddy Mwambire has assured his leader Raila Odinga that the Coast region will overwhelmingly vote for him to be the 5th President of this country.
Speaking at Cleopatra ground where Mr Odinga addressed his Azmio la Umoja wa Wakenya Initiative, Mr Mwambire said the Coast region has always rallied behind Mr Odinga and nothing different will come out in the next year General election.
“Baba, Coast region is under you. We are in charge and take it from me that come next year, this region will deliver votes and send you to Statehouse as the 5th President. We have always stood in your ideologies and since you understand what it takes and the challenges facing us, it will be easy for you to address them while at the house on the top of the hill,” said Mr Mwambire.
The Ganze MP who took over from Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi after his ouster said ODM is still the popular political party in the Coast region and that their focus is for Mr Odinga’s win.
“We shall vote in big number and as usual so that you go to the top seat in the land. Our ambition in the Coast is to see that the gaisn that have eroded this region are returned back to us and that will be through you and not the other side,” said Mr Mwambire.
During the rally Mr Odinga also received politicians into the ODM party including ASAL CAS Gideon Mung’aro who decamped from Jubilee to join Mr Odinga’s ODM.
Mr Mung’aro was in ODM before he jumped ship to Jubilee but he is now back to the party. Also Mr Odinga welcomed into the party Witness Tsuma who was in Kadu Asili.
