Kindiki to Nairobi Gang: You Have Dared The Gov’t, We Are Coming For You

Interior CS Kithure Kindiki has issued a warning to criminals, claiming that the government has already taken steps to address the country’s growing insecurity.

Prof Kindiki stated that the police command in Nairobi has been deployed immediately in order to combat insecurity.

“We have witnessed increasing criminal activity within Nairobi. Small groups of criminals armed with knives and other weapons are terrorising residents. Those boys have dared the government and want to tell us that they can take over the city and make it a city of crime. We have heard you and we are coming for you, effective immediately,” Prof Kindiki said.

The CS said, in response to the new wave of crime, the leadership and the command of the police has changed in the city, including deployment under a multi-agency response team.

“We will get these sons and daughters, terrorising city residents, out of the city and put them where criminals belong,” Kindiki said.

The Interior boss gave an update on dealing with the banditry menace in the north-Rift region.  He confirmed that the state had located the bandits’ hideouts and would soon launch a strike.

“We are coming to dismantle them not only the criminals but to break down the entire chain of the cattle rustling industry, the financiers, criminals, spiritual supporters, benefactors and those who purchase stolen livestock from Kenyans,” the CS disclosed.

At the same time, Kindiki denied claims that Police are on a go-slow saying such reports are untrue.

“Police don’t go on go-slows. We understand that they work under difficult circumstances and we acknowledge that,” he said.

In addition, he cautioned the leaders against politicising the efforts taken by the state in dealing with insecurity.
