Kirimi Koome: Parties fail to reach agreement in Ksh.391M fraud case involving Kenyan, Rwandese businessmen

A case in which a Kenyan businessman Kirimi Koome was charged with conspiracy to defraud Desire Muhinyuza a Rwandese national of Ksh.391 million will now be heard in September 19 after the parties failed to reach a out of Court settlement.

According to Muhinyuza’s Advocate, Danstan Omari, the parties in the case failed to reach an agreement to have the matter settled out of court.

“No negotiations which are going on, the offer for the complainant in this matter to pursue ADR was rejected hence this matter should proceed, their is no any prayer to stop the prosecution of the accused person herein, we are requesting that we take hearing date, through the state we will be requesting that our key witness do testify virtually for the matter to proceed with speed, this is because some of the witnesses are foreigners in Rwanda, UK and Estonia.” prayed Adv Omari.

During Tuesday’s mention, Magistrate BenMark Ekumbi was told that the complainant and the accused persons failed to reach an agreement and asked the court to have the matter heard to its completion.

The High Court in December 2023 ruled that Muhinyuza is the legitimate owner of Stay online limited business based in Kenya and having branches in various countries across the globe.

In the case, Kenyan businessman Kirimi Koome had claimed ownership of the company.
