Police from Wanguru police station in Mwea East, Kirinyaga County, arrested a father accused of defiling his two-and-a-half-year-old daughter.
The kid was apparently left behind by her mother, who had a falling out with her husband at the time of the event.
Residents of Kiumbu village rushed to the toddler’s wailing, but they managed to escape. He was quickly apprehended by the enraged locals who were clamouring for his blood.
They dragged him to Kimbimbi dispensary and locked him in one of the rooms before summoning the cops.
Mwea East OCPD James Mutua confirmed the incident, saying that police reacted after receiving information from members of the public.
Mutua stated that the two-and-a-half-year-old minor was being treated at Kimbimbi Sub-County Hospital, where a medical examination confirmed that she had been defiled.
