A man who went missing last Thursday after reportedly murdering his 65-year-old father in Mukangu village in Ndia, Kirinyaga County, has been apprehended.
According to Kirinyaga West Sub- County police chief Moses Koskei, George Muriithi Mutero, 35, was arrested on Wednesday in Ol Kalou, Nyandarua County.
He was scheduled to appear at the Baricho police station on Thursday.
According to family members, the suspect stabbed his father over 10 times with a kitchen knife before going missing.
Residents have pointed fingers at substance abuse.
“Muriithi had been using bhang and other hard drugs he cannot look at you for fear of overuse of bhang,” Paul Mugo said.
The police commander said the suspect will be arraigned after they conclude investigations.
