A 69-year-old grandfather has been arrested in Kisii county, Birongo district, Nyaribari Chache constituency, for defiling a six-year-old child.
According to authorities, the man, who is claimed to be a member of the community policing forum, enticed the girl, who had been sent to the shop by her parents.
“The man enticed the girl to his place and committed the horrific act,” the report indicate.
The police, in collaboration with the community policing organization, initiated a manhunt for the perpetrator, who had fled the scene.
