National Liberal Party (NLP) leader Dr. Augustus Kyalo Muli has launched a scathing attack on President William Ruto’s administration, accusing it of sidelining the Kamba community in the recent Principal Secretaries reshuffle.
Speaking during a high-energy meeting with grassroots mobilizers at his Misuuni residence, Dr. Muli, who also serves as the National Anzauni Patron, lamented the community’s diminishing presence in government despite their political and economic contributions.
“As the fifth largest community in Kenya, the Kamba should not be reduced to spectators in national leadership. We deserve a full ministerial slot. My people are asking me, ‘What are we getting in return? We voted for this government, we pay taxes, and now we demand our rightful place,’” he stated.
Dr. Muli further took issue with the government’s failure to complete major development projects in Ukambani, specifically highlighting:
The stalled Thwake Dam project and the delayed Kitui-Kibwezi-Migwani Road
“Mr. President, where is the place of Kitui in your government? Our people need answers, not empty promises,” he added.
The meeting comes as NLP’s national registration drive picks up steam, with growing interest in Eastern Kenya and beyond.
