Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has once again revisited the referendum budget, saying the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) referendum shouldnt cost Ksh.5 billion.
While addressing Central Kenya through the popular Inooro TV/Inooro FM, Raila said the Ksh.14 billion budget was outrageous.
This has been seen by many as an U-turn on his earlier sentiments that the BBI would cost only 2 Billion.
Raila, while responding to the speculation that MCAs were bribed to pass the BBI Bill, said the opponents should be more creative in politics.
“Nobody has said BBI has to pass by force…this is propaganda by some leaders who want to get into leadership with the current system of administration which may result in chaos. MCAs asked the president about the car grants and the president did it, he still could do it without BBI…even if he bribed them he cannot bribe Kenyans to pass it,” he said.
Raila discussed arising issues with his opposition team, saying the ODM party was still an opposition party and deserves to criticizer the government on failed promises, despite the Handshake.
