A Nairobi court has granted a motion to detain two police officers, who the prosecution claims are selling firearms and ammunition to members of the public in Laikipia County.
The two Joel Githaiga and PC Martin Murimi will be held until the 25th of this month.
According to the miscellaneous application, the prosecution claims that the two officers who sold the ammo are suspected of committing murder and banditry in Laikipia County and the surrounding counties.
“That other suppliers and buyers of the ammunition are still at large and there is need to hold the suspect, conduct further investigations and make more arrests,” reads the application
