BY FAITH MUTETE – The Nairobi traffic departments have prepared Nairobians for the several roads that will be closed during the Standard Chartered Marathon slated for Sunday 27th.
Its starting point will be Uhuru highway, using Bunyala roundabout, towards Mombasa road through forest road and back again to Nyayo stadium.
Some of the roads to be closed are sections of Langata road, University way, Forest Road, Lower Hill Road and Museum hill. In the CBD Kenyatta avenue, sections of Haile Selassie and Harambee Avenue will be closed too.
The traffic department has however assured Nairobi city dwellers that this will not affect movement as they have allocated alternative roads to be used.
This year’s race is aimed at raising 60 million to help a youth program branded Future Makers.
