Makadara courts close after reporting Covid-19 cases

The Judiciary has directed Makadara Law Courts to be closed down for 14 days- By Gerald Gekara.

While announcing the closure, Chief Registrar of the Judiciary, Anne Amadi said the court had reported 2 coronavirus infections.

“We direct that the court be closed for fourteen days and all Magistrates and staff to proceed on self-quarantine.” the statement read.

Further directions will see Milimani law courts closed down to allow for fumigation and cleaning between July 24 and July 25.

The move comes amid plans to instill tougher measures after the Ministry of Health reported rapidly increasing coronavirus cases.

Kenya’s coronavirus tally current stands at 14,168 cases, with 250 deaths reported so far.
