Malindi legislator Aisha Jumwa today appeared in court to proceed with the hearing of a Ksh 19 million corruption case against her and 70 others. – By Gerald Gekara.
The vocal MP is facing graft charges in relation to a Sh57 million graft case at the Malindi National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF).
Her co accused face charges of wilful failure to comply with the law relating to procurement, forgery and uttering false documents.
In the run up to her arrest, Aisha Jumwa was reportedly missing. She however dismissed the claims, later surrendered to police following a directive from Mombasa Chief Magistrate Edna Nyaloti.
The hearing is set to continue over the coming days.
