SANFORD, FLORIDA (AP) – A man has been accused of slashing his relatives with a sword on Wednesday.
After answering a 911 request requesting medical attention, police discovered Gary Campbell pacing in front of his house on Spanish Bay Drive.
When deputies entered the house, they discovered Campbell’s mother, father, and sister all had serious wounds, according to police.
According to police, all three were taken to the hospital.
Campbell allegedly used a katana sword, a kind of Japanese sword used by samurais, according to detectives.
Based on interviews with Campbell, detectives said they believe he intentionally attacked his family.
Officers arrested Campbell, who is facing charges for two counts of attempted first degree homicide and one count of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
