Man Digs Grave After Defaulting A 15,000 Debt

After failing to raise the KSh 15,000 he owed a villager and a company that deals with agriculture in the area, Martin Juma reportedly decided to bury himself in a grave he dug.

Juma’s wife, Christine Juma, told a local tv station that he had a KSh 10,000 One Acre Fund loan that was overdue for payment.

She went on to say that shortly after, his kid had destroyed their neighbor’s trees worth KSh 5,000.

After lacking the means to pay back the debts, his wife begged well-wishers to assist them in repaying the debt.

The man then started to dig a grave for himself.

Community elders have been called to carry out cleansing rituals that involve, burying a mature banana stalk in the grave to fill it, according to Bukusu culture.

In addition, the elders would be re-acquired to slaughter a sheep to prevent their family from being haunted by evil spirits.
