Margistrate Pushes For Limit To Case Delaying Tactics

Thika law courts Chief Magistrate Stella Atambo has requested Kenyan courts to limit the number of times a party can request an extension of a court session.

Atambo acknowledged that there have been delays in the delivery of some judgements, attributing the delays to techniques adopted by some lawyers, mostly the defendants, who frequently seek extension of cases.

The magistrate stated that insurance firms had hampered court processes in traffic accident cases by utilizing delaying tactics.

She challenged all parties to work together in a collaborative effort to expedite and resolve court proceedings in a timely manner.
