Ciku Muiruri, a media personality, has slammed politicians for eulogizing late news anchor Catherine Kasavuli.
In a tweet, Muiruri criticized politicians for paying tributes to Kasavuli while they ignored her fundraising efforts for months.
So far, the family has sought the assistance of well-wishers to offset an outstanding bill of Sh4 million incurred at the Kenyatta National Hospital during her stay and treatment at the hospital.
“All these politicians and their wives falling over themselves to pay tributes to Catherine Kasavuli have been ignoring her fundraising efforts for months,” Muiruri said.
She added: “They knew she was sick. Spare us the hypocrisy and help her family offset the Sh4 million bill if you loved her so much.”
After she was admitted to KNH in November, colleagues and friends in the media industry rallied to donate blood for an urgent transfusion.
Kasavuli’s employer, KBC, had requested blood donations while shewas in the Private wing of Kenyatta Hospital.
Some of the leaders who have paid their respects so far include Defense CS Aden Duale, who described Kasavuli as a trailblazing TV journalist who once graced screens with pride.
