Men In Black Stole My Votes – Kidero

Former Nairobi governor Evans Kidero has stated that “men in black” were among those responsible for his defeat in the Homa Bay governorship election.

Other issues he mentioned included mismanaged ODM primaries, what he called the undue influence of Azimio leader Raila Odinga, alleged election form tampering, and violence, which he claimed allowed Gladys Wanga to be declared “unfairly” winner in the August 9 poll.

Dr. Kidero made the charges while testifying in court in a lawsuit in which he is contesting Ms. Wanga’s election.

He stated that he faced numerous challenges when campaigning as an independent candidate against Ms. Wanga (ODM).

He said that Orange Party candidates had no problems on the campaign trail in Homa Bay as he himself faced opposition from paid goons.

He said that rowdy youths whom he referred to as “men in black,” disrupted his political meetings.

The moniker comes from an incident in February 2014, when a group of young men dressed in black suits invaded the Kasarani Gymnasium during the ODM elections.

They damaged tables, destroyed election materials, and disrupted the process.

Dr. Kidero played a video in court to show the origin of the group, which has wreaked havoc at numerous political rallies across the country.

He testified in court that the youths follow the orders of some leaders and follow a perfectly scripted script.

“Someone is always sponsoring them and instructing them what they should do. My efforts encountered difficulties when young people rushed the venue to disrupt my speech “he stated
