Mercy Masika has pleaded with Kenyans to lend a helping hand to struggling artists during the lockdown – By Stephanie Mwangi.

Different employment sectors and business have had to halt their businesses because there has been a lockdown that has been imposed to some of the counties,

This is a move by the ministry of health to reduce the many crowds and gatherings that have led to spread of the covid -19.

One of the affected sectors is the entertainment industry which really took a toll on artists who earned from the various gigs and concerts.

Mercy Masika a gospel artist took to social media to address most artists unspoken living situations considering the new government directives.

She called upon Kenyans to check up on their favoritecelebrities saying that not all of them are living lavish as we think, she pleaded with Kenyans to extend their financial support to help them get through the challenging economic times.

“Some music fans have the impression that all musicians are rock stars living lavish lives, as you know this is simply not the case for most artists who rely on regular gigs just to make ends meet.

At this time in Kenya artists and musicians need you their fans to support ,if you know an artist reach out to them many sectors have challenges but how can we help each other if yours is prospering we thank God but don’t laugh at us ,” wrote mercy.
