Delays by the Migori county administration to pay for third party insurance has left drivers and county operations stalled as workers lament lack of transport.
According to reports, only ambulances registered to the county are in operation. The rest of the vehicles lie idle at the parking yards of different departments.
This has forced a section of the drivers to seek for work in the private sector, contrary to government civil servants requirement.
“We report to work as usual, bask in the sun for the better part of the day then leave to our homes without doing anything,” said one of the drivers.
The workers have called on the government to facilitate their transport operations in order to serve their county better.
