Ministry Of Health: Kakamega Patient Does Not Have Ebola

The Kenya Medical Research Institute laboratory tests came back negative, indicating that the patient did not have Ebola virus disease.

The Ministry of Health has clarified that samples from a patient suspected of having Ebola found no evidence of the virus.

The Kenya Medical Research Institute laboratory tests came back negative, indicating that the patient did not have Ebola virus disease.

However, the country is still at risk because Uganda, a neighboring country, has since recorded at least 36 cases of the virus.

“We would like to inform the public that laboratory tests for samples taken from the patient have since turned out to be negative, and thus there is no cause for concern,” acting director, Ministry of Health, Patrick Amoth, said.
