MKU Boss, Former MPs Land New Jobs In Ruto Govt

President William Ruto has selected Simon Gicharu, the head of Mount Kenya University (MKU), as the new chairperson of the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD).

Gicharu’s appointment will be for three years, beginning October 13, 2023, and will replace Professor Elishiba Njambi Kimani, whose appointment was cancelled.

Ruto also appointed former Taita Taveta MP Naomi Shaban chairperson of the Tobacco Control Board for a period of two years and revoked the appointment of Dr Khama Rogo.

He also appointed Job Chirchir to be the new Water Services Regulatory Board chairperson, he will replace Gicharu.

Chirchir’s appointment at the Kenya Forest Service (KFS) was revoked and he will now chair the Water board for a period of three years

The President also appointed Titus Kipkoech Korir as the chairperson of KFS for a three-year term, succeeding Chirchir.

Interior CS Professor Kithure Kindiki has named Jubilee chairperson Nelson Dzuya to the Non-Governmental Organisation Coordination Board for a three-year term.

CS Education Joel Kibe has been appointed to the University of Nairobi Council by Ezekiel Machogu for a three-year term.

CS Agriculture Mithika Linturi appointed Zakayo Maina to the Pyrethrum Processing Company Board of Directors for a three-year term.

Environment CS Soipan Tuya cancelled Maina’s nomination to the KFS board and replaced him with Jane Simita Munka.
