Moses Kuria, the nominee for Trade Cabinet Secretary, is planning to dissolve his Chama Cha Kazi party and join the United Democratic Alliance.
Kuria claimed during a funeral in Elgeyo Marakwet that he has written to political parties registrar Ann Nderitu to request the dissolution of his party.
“Just yesterday I was the leader of Chama cha Kazi. I dissolved it and went to the registrar and joined UDA. I want us to join hands and once nominations are over you give us the name of the candidate.”
In the event that a by-election is called after Senator Murkomen Kipchumba was appointed to the cabinet, the former Gatundu South MP urged locals to support the UDA by electing a UDA senator.
In accordance with the Political Parties Act, the registrar is required to publish the party’s dissolution within seven days of receiving a request to fold a political party.
