Musalia Mudavadi, Prime Cabinet Secretary, has accused Raila Odinga, leader of the Azimio coalition, of economic sabotage through the weekly Maandamano anti-government protests.
Mudavadi stated on Saturday during a thanksgiving service organized by 40 churches in Kakamega that the protests have harmed business in several counties and undermined regional trade.
He claimed Odinga’s actions are intended to harm the economy, despite his claims that the Azimio faction is pushing for lower living costs.
“Kenya is the heartbeat and the largest economy in East Africa.” “We are the gateway to Uganda, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Rwanda, and Burundi,” he explained.
“We finished elections in August 2022, what are you doing when someone blocks an International Highway like Isebania and then causes chaos in Kisumu and blocks the highway through Busia, you want to undermine Malaba and the economies of those countries through your selfish desires?” Mudavadi posed for the camera.
He went on to say: “We’re exhausted. Your credibility in terms of democracy is on fire. What you are pursuing now is anarchy rather than democracy “He stated.
Mudavadi went on to say that Raila should not be fighting President William Ruto, but rather former President Uhuru Kenyatta, “who handed over the instruments of power.”
“Who gave Ruto the sword of authority?” Ruto received the instruments of authority from Azimio’s chairman. “Ask Uhuru why he didn’t give you the instruments of power, but instead gave them to Ruto,” he said.
