Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen has claimed that the Senate floored President Uhuru Kenyatta in the revenue allocation duel.
Markomen , a fierce critic of President Kenyatta, Raila Odinga and BBI said the Senate has oversight powers over the executive in allocation of power.
He said the Senate has a five year win against the Executive that guarantees counties of progressive cash increase. “The Sh.53million promised by the President is inconsequential. Whether it comes or not, Counties are in a stronger position than they were”, the fiery Murkomen said in a live interview with Citizen TV.
He said the Senators had won against a determined executive led by President Uhuru. The mood by Senator Murkomen echoes that of DP Ruto lately, who is increasingly snipping at President Kenyatta in a bid to sustain his presidential bid which was beginning to stutter.
He warned the Senator will continue to bite despite the many difficulties that they faced on the way to the win. “We only won a battle. The war is still very much on. Be alert, Murkomen told his fellow Senators.
