Househelp Caught On Camera Kissing, Touching Employer’s Son

A househelp has been charged with sexually assaulting her employer’s two-year-old son in violation of Section 5 (1) of the Sexual Offences Act (SOA) of 2006.

Ms. Joyce Mwangi was charged at Makadara Law Courts for committing the offense inside her employer’s house in Soweto estate, Embakasi East, in an incident captured on CCTV on January 16, 2023.

Ms. Mwangi is also charged with an indecent act with a child in violation of Section 11 (1) of the SOA for indecently touching the child.

The crime was allegedly discovered while the boy’s mother was monitoring her son via a CCTV camera she had installed in her home and connected to her phone.

She immediately notified a family member, who rushed to the house to intervene before she took a taxi home.

She confronted Ms. Mwangi with the video, which allegedly showed her kissing the minor before lying on top of him.

The suspect pleaded for lenient bail and bond terms before Senior Resident Magistrate Mercy Malingu, claiming she is a mother of two children who rely on her.

She was released on a bond of Sh500,000. The case will be mentioned on March 1.
