Several Feared Dead In A Grisly Road Accident

The Sagana area in Murang’a county was engulfed in grief after one person died in an accident on Thursday afternoon, August 18, when a lorry collided with two Public Service Vehicles (PSVs) and four personal cars in Kambiti, along the Nairobi-Meru highway.

According to media reports, the lorry transporting beer on its way to Sagana lost control after the brakes failed, crashing into six other vehicles.

The two PSVs were two matatus from 2NK Sacco ferrying students to their respective schools.

The students were on their way to school from Nyeri High, Endarasha Boys in Kieni, and Kaheti in Mukurwe-ini.

Those who were injured were rushed to Murang’a county hospital, according to police officers who spoke to the press.

At the time of publication, two vehicles (a lorry and a personal vehicle) remained on the scene after the other five had been towed away to the nearest police station.
