Nakuabudu: Jowie Drops New Hit As He Heads To Prison

Joseph ‘Jowie’ Irungu has released a new gospel song shortly after being found guilty of the murder of businesswoman Monicah Kimani.

The new song dubbed ‘Nakuabudu’ was uploaded on his official YouTube channel which has over 26.3k subscribers. It is a worship song produced by Safri Records.

“Psalms 150:6 Let everything that hath breath Praise the LORD. Praise ye the Lord,” the description on his YouTube channel announcing the release of the song reads.

In the song, Jowie belts his heart out as he praises God pledging his love and allegiance to always worship God.

Part of the lyrics go,”Nakubuadu, nakusujudu, ni wewe, Yesu milele….Mikononi mwako Baba narejea…

Miguuni mwako Yesu nalilia….Msalabani nimepona, sitaogopa, unami Bwana, gongo lako na fimbo yako inifariji Bwana….”

Jowie turned into music back in 2020, 2 years after the murder of Monicah. He released his first gospel song ‘Nishikilie’ which he followed up with other tracks like ‘Eyaah’ ‘Juu’ and ‘Babie.’

The artist was on Friday 9th found guilty of the murder of the businessman which occurred back in 2018. His ex-fiance, former news anchor Jacque Maribe who was the second accused was acquitted.

Justice Grace Nzioka ruled that Jowie Irungu had murdered Monica Kimani. The court maintained that Jowie stole someone’s ID, armed himself with a gun, carried a kanzu and change of clothes, gained access, and murdered Monica Kimani.

“All this evidence leaves a strong conclusion that Irungu murdered Monica Kimani. The prosecution has proved beyond a reasonable doubt,” she said.

Making the ruling on Friday, Justice Grace Nzioka said the prosecution has adduced sufficient evidence and has met the threshold.

“The person who killed the deceased did not intend to give her even one minute to survive. It is my considered opinion and finding that the perpetrator intended instant death,” Justice Grace Nzioka said.
