Nakuru: Mother, Daughter Dead As Fire Razes Their House

Police in Solai, Nakuru County, have launched an investigation into an incident involving a teenage mother and her four-week-old child, whose bodies were retrieved on Tuesday night in a burning house.

According to Nakuru County police boss Peter Mwanzo, the officers broke into the house and discovered the two bodies, which had been burned beyond recognition.

“We got reports that a mud house in lower Solai had caught fire from Solai Sub Chief and upon reaching the scene we found that the house had been locked from inside. We found out that there was a teenage mother and her kid burning inside and they were already dead,” said Mwanzo.

“We are aware that the young mother had been mentally affected by her early pregnancy and the birth of the child which had affected her education,” added the police boss.

The bodies of the two have since been transferred to the Nakuru Level Five Hospital Mortuary for postmortem examination.
