Ngirici: I Lost Millions To Backstabbing UDA, Ruto

Wangui Ngirici, a Kirinyaga woman lawmaker, now claims she regrets initiating and investing in the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) in Kirinyaga County.

Ngirici, who left the party in December to run as an independent for the county’s gubernatorial seat, says she regrets her husband, Andrew Ngirici, selling a multimillion-shilling family home to publicize UDA, which she now claims betrayed her by openly backing her rival Anne Waiguru.

“I sacrificed a lot for the UDA party but I was later shortchanged.. Mambo ya kuchagua chama tuwache, let us think about individuals who will represent our interests.”

She was speaking in Kiamanyeki, Mwea constituency on Saturday as part of a trip to stir up support for her August campaign.

Ngirici also told supporters that she was kicked out of the Kenya Women Parliamentary Association (KEWOPA) and different National Assembly committees for supporting Deputy President William Ruto, who she claimed betrayed her.

Nigirici bowed out of UDA after what she termed as favoritism and unfair treatment.

She is vying as an independent candidate and has been regarded a top contender for the Kirinyaga county gubernatorial seat.

She has been spotted alongside Azimio lawmakers during key events. However, the entrance of NARC Kenya leader Martha Karua may complicate chances of being supported by Raila Odinga.
