At the age of 94, George Gregory Wilson Nthenge, the last Lancaster House senior politician, passed away.
His eldest son, Ootto Edward Musembi Nthenge, claimed his father died at their Buruburu house.
He added that he was discharged from Nairobi hospital just two weeks before.
In 1960, Nthenge was a member of the Machakos district’s Legislative Council of Kenya (LegCo).
After the death of former President Daniel Moi, he was one of the designers of Kenya’s first constitution and part of the team that flew to Lancaster to agitate for Kenya’s independence.
He was the Member of Parliament for Iveti South in the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s.
