NTSA Extends Working Hours To Beat Murkomen Deadlines

The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has extended its operating hours to speed up the issuance of the new generation numberplates.

NTSA indicated that all its offices will henceforth operate from 7.30 am to 6.00 pm.

NTSA offices will also remain open on Saturdays in the coming two weeks to facilitate the collection of the new number plates.

“Additionally, NTSA offices will remain open to the public on Saturday, 30th September, 2023 and Saturday, 7th October, 2023 from 8.00am – 4.00pm to enable number plate collection,” added the statement.

Roads and Transport Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen ordered the NTSA to clear a backlog in printing Driving Licences, logbooks, and digital number plates within two weeks.

The issue is due to a broken printing machine, resulting in half a million incomplete applications.

Murkomen has urged NTSA officials to submit a report on why the printing took so long.
