NTSA said that managers of Neo Kenya Mpya Commuters Limited and Joy Kenya Services Limited were called to answer to multiple allegations in relation to their buses.

“In the implementation of the PSV Regulations, 2014 and in consultation with the Inspector General, the Authority has summoned the officials of Neo Kenya Mpya Commuters Limited and Joy Kenya Services Limited to appear before it to provide an insight into the incidents reported to have occurred at Kenol, Muranga County on Sunday 4th October 2020,” read the statement.

In the early morning chaos that was allegedly meant to block Deputy President William Ruto from attending a fundraiser at a local church, one person died.

Police Inspector General Hillary Mutyambai ordered for the arrest of Alice Wahome and her colleague Ndindi Nyoro (Kiharu) over the mayhem that was said to have been staged.

The buses were alleged to have ferried youth to Kenol in Murang’a county, according to the account of one rioter who was cornered by residents.

The Joy Kenya, and Neo-Kenya Mpya company has once again found itself on the spot for the wrong reasons.

The company was recently the center of protests against the killing of one Caleb Omwoyo, a cyclist who was knocked down by a bus belonging to the same company.
