On Thursday, a principal was killed at Katheka Shopping Centre by a speeding canter. Mr. Mungai died on the spot during the accident. KeNHA Director General Peter Mundinia confirmed KeNHA has received Mrs. Nyenze’s petition and said the issue will be looked into.

Mundinia said most accidents on roads are caused by careless driving and urged motorists to be careful while driving.
He said motorists must exercise care on roads especially in rural areas where flash accidents are common. Mrs. Nyenze was accompanied by Kitui Senator Enock Wambua and Kauwi Ward MCA Mrs. Jane Mutua.

The leaders said many people lost their lives in freak accidents at the busy road and said action must be taken. Senator Wambua lamented the increase in alcohol consumption in Kitui County and said the time has come for the habit to stop.
