Nzioka Waita has called on Machakos residents to support his gubernatorial bid, banking on major achievements during his tenure as Former State House Chief of Staff.
Speaking after the mass, Waita stated that his plan is to serve the people of Machakos and urged the congregation not to be fooled to choose a leader because he has been vying for so long.
“Don’t be fooled to choose a politician because he has been there for years trying to get elected,” he said.
He also promised the congregation that if given the chance, he will protect the women and also improve the economy for the youths of Machakos to get jobs.
Waita who has worked as President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Chief of staff for seven years said that he is determined in service delivery to the people of Machakos.
“This County needs a person who is ready to serve you, a God fearing leader who is ready to walk with the church and religious leaders so as to serve the people of Machakos from one corner to another. Iam no Politician. Iam a hardworking servant for the people,” he said.
He also added that he will work with all elected leaders starting from MCA’s for the benefit of the people.
He noted that some residents have no title deeds for their lands which some live in due to laziness of some workers in the devolved government.
The former State House chief of staff said that through his intervention a section of roads in the county have been completed and others are on the process.
Former Machakos County women representative Dr. Susan Musyoka who also attended the mass said Waita will bring back the pride and dignity that Machakos people didn’t have.
“I believe and trust the work that Waita is going to do for us, and we will not be ashamed as Machakos will be a good place, where it was supposed to be,” she said.
