The Orange Democratic Party has resolved to demand the IEBCvoters list, which holds the number of voters registered in Kibra county.
In a statement posted on their social media accounts, the Party accused IEBC of providing a register that is not professionally done, lacking crucial details such as ID numbers.
” We are demanding that the @IEBCKenya live up to their expectations and provide the people of Kibra with voter register that has the full name of the voter, polling station & his/her ID number. What they have provided doesn’t have voters’ ID numbers hence making verification hard. ” ODM said.
ODM Party went on to further claim that the IEBC was removing voters and adding strangers into the register, some being moved to other polling stations without their permissions.
” It is worth noting that, on the 12th of this month (October), Kibra Community Leaders released a report with a list of 19,200 people in Kibra who had their names removed from the register. They also indicated that 10,040 new names had been added in the voter register.” lamented Edwin Sifuna.
“The report also indicated that 3,812 people had been moved from their polling stations to others without their knowledge. The IEBC is yet to come clean on this! ” he added.
With campaigns coming to a close in the coming week, Kenyan politicians will be keen on who will clinch the crucial November 7th poll, with Jubilee boasting its large crowds, and ODM fighting an impending storm with co-principal party, Amani National Coalition.
