OKA, Mudavadi Messy Divorce

The events of Bomas can only be described as a messy breakup when a man openly introduced his ‘side dish’ to an engagement party.

Musalia Mudavadi, who is now allied with Deputy President William Ruto, has severed connections with One Kenya Alliance (OKA).

In a statement released on Sunday, co-principals Kalonzo Musyoka and Gideon Moi said OKA could not condone Mudavadi’s political games.

Following DP Ruto’s admission into the auditorium with his allies, the dismayed foursome walked out of Mudavadi’s much-anticipated ‘earthquake’ convention on Sunday at the Bomas of Kenya in Nairobi.

“Our principals Hon Kalonzo Musyoka and Hon Gideon Moi out of respect honored his invitation as a co-principal to attend the Bomas event and congratulated him for being nominated by his party to go and look for more friends,”

“Unfortunately we have to part ways since some of his friends are not our friends and we are unsafe with them. We are therefore moving to higher grounds where Kenyans are safer,” OKA spokesperson Fredrick Okango stated.

The announcement resulted in a wave of mixed reactions as supporters who came to witness the rebirth of their candidate, were left with a surprised coalition.

Ruto’s move, though anticipated, is sure to cause a tectonic shift in the 2022 race.

As for OKA… Kalonzo and co. will have to live with the humiliation that was in the full glare of the nation.
