A middle-aged man has been arraigned in court after kicking down the door of a tenant to force him to vacate.
David Wachira, a caretaker, is accused of subjecting a tenant to annoyance contrary to section 29 of the Rent Restriction Act CAP 226 Laws of Kenya.
According to the courts, on October 6, 2022 at around 1915 hours, at Paward Flats Desai road in Nairobi, jointly with others still on the run, willfully and unlawfully subjected Richard Junior Kubare, his tenant to annoyance with intent to compel him vacate.
It was not clear what might have caused the caretaker to take laws in his own hands.
The caretaker denied particulars of the charges before Magistrate Robinson Ondieki and was released on a bond of Ksh 50,000 with an alternative cash bail of Ksh 10,000.
