Should a fire, and God forbid, or an air disaster happen, hundreds of thousands of people will perish.
Worse still, the unplanned structures have little access to roads in case of disaster. Encroachment has ensured that road reserves are occupied by hawkers and the famous Mama Mbogas.
And the leadership of Nairobi…from former Governor Evans Kidero to the en-battled Mike Sonko, and even President Uhuru Kenyatta dare not correct this anomaly mainly because the inhabitants here are voting machines in every election cycle.Therefore they are literally untouchables..
