Police in Solai, Nakuru County, have arrested four suspects and recovered 201 rolls of cannabis following an intelligence-led operation in the Energy area.

According to the National Police Service, officers from Solai Police Station raided a rental room where two suspects had locked themselves inside and were in the process of rolling cannabis sativa. At the time of the raid, they had already prepared 201 rolls.

During the operation, two other individuals attempted to obstruct the arrest by mobilising a group of locals who pelted stones at the officers in a bid to free the suspects.

The two were also apprehended and are set to face charges of obstructing police officers in the line of duty and inciting members of the public.

All four suspects were taken to Solai Police Station for processing and will be arraigned in court. The recovered narcotics were secured as exhibits at the same facility.

Police reaffirmed their commitment to intensifying the crackdown on narcotics and related criminal activities, urging the public to remain vigilant and support efforts to rid communities of illegal drugs.
