Police Arrest Suspect In Deadly Rongai Robbery

Two suspects have been arrested and are helping the police identifying the names of the armed thugs shown on CCTV invading a home in a gated community in Rongai.

Police apprehended two suspects in connection with the attack on a female motorist in Gataka, Ongata Rongai, on Tuesday.

The two were apprehended after reportedly using the information of the victim, whom they robbed at her home on Sunday morning.

The suspect, whose identity has not been revealed, is believed to be a member of the five-man gang that assaulted the woman occupant of the home, as soon as she entered her property at Manchester Close in Kanidisi.

The agent of the Mpesa shop and the man who went to withdraw the cash after being ordered by one of the assailants who were present at the scene of the attack are among those being held by police.
A team of Special Service Unit investigators is on the hunt for the gunman responsible for the dramatic incident on Sunday at 2 a.m., which was captured on CCTV and extensively posted on social media.

Detectives apprehended the suspect on Monday after he withdrew Sh240,000 from an M-Pesa shop in Kasarani, Nairobi.

The thugs made away with her handbag, phone, and other belongings before demanding her PINs.

While issuing a statement on the violent crime The National Police Service said efforts were being made to detain the robbers.

“While we strongly condemn this incident, we would like to assure the public that the National Police Service’ officers in Kajiado are working round the clock to bring the culprits to book. Our sympathies go out to the innocent lady, her family and friends.”
