A wanted motorbike theft suspect has been apprehended by detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations.

Samuel Oluoch, nicknamed Dozi, is said to be part of a larger network of thieves that target boda boda riders and steal their motorcycles.

According to a police report seen by Uzalendo News, a call from a worried member of the public set a trap for the 26-year-old suspect, who poses as a technician.

While raiding his hideout in Suna East, Migori county, the notorious thief was found three motorcycles that he had difficulties proving ownership.

Area officers say the group mostly targets the popular Boxer breed, which is known to sell easily in the underground.

Dozi’s illicit network also stretches to a nearby prison, according to detectives. It was established that he is in constant contact with a robbery suspect currently operating within prison walls.

The suspect was taken in for questioning, pending arraignment in court.
