Police Commence Search For Guns Lost In Siaya Attack

Authorities in Busia County have launched an investigation to find two guns that were allegedly stolen during an attack on two policemen escorting Form Four exam papers to Mahero Secondary School in Alego Usonga, Siaya County, yesterday.

The search is centred on the Wanga Hills area of the Budalangi Constituency.

According to residents, the guns were last seen in the possession of two suspects who were spotted in the Nayera area of Rwambwa sub-county, Budalangi Constituency.

The suspected attackers were seen with two guns that were stolen from two police officers. They allegedly hid the guns in the Wanga Hills area after stealing a phone from a local preacher.

Busia County Police Commander John Lekuta, who is leading the operation with a contingent of officers from Busia, Siaya, and Kakamega, has established a camp in the area.

He has urged residents of the Budalangi Constituency to provide information and report any sightings of the armed gang to security agencies.

Mzungu Shabaan, the AP Commander of Siaya County, urged residents of Budalangi and Siaya to cooperate with police in the operation.
