Policeman Abandons KCPE Station, To Go On A Drinking Spree

On Monday, a police officer monitoring the ongoing national exams was nabbed by his colleagues after he left his position in Nakuru County to go on a drinking spree.

According to a police record obtained by the Nation, Kimonia Primary School centre manager Elijah Biwott reported the officer’s absence to authorities before the KCPE exam.

According to preliminary investigations, the officer left his post and travelled to a neighbouring trading centre, where he is claimed to have drunk the alcohol.

When one of the instructors on the school grounds observed the cop was inebriated, he approached him and persuaded him to sleep in his house before the police arrived and detained him.

Ms Mary Rotich, Kericho branch secretary of the Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) urged people found to have pregnant schoolgirls should be arrested and prosecuted.

“It is unfortunate that sex pests in society have impregnated girls, turning them into young mothers and causing them to drop out of school.” “The perpetrators should be arrested, and punitive and deterrent measures implemented,” Ms Rotich added.
