(PSCU) – President Uhuru Kenyatta today congratulates the cooperative in the country for the important role it plays for the welfare of the country. Kenya’s Co-operative System is the best in Africa and it also ranked seven in the world with more than one trillion shillings.
In order to strengthen the contribution of savings parties and loans in the country’s economic well-being, President Kenyatta said the Government will take more leadership measures to seize all gaps in the industry.
“I order the Ministry of Industrial Welfare, Trade and Cooperative Organizations to accelerate the creation of the National Cooperatives Policy and start implementing the proposed investigative unit in the Cooperative Supervisory Board (SASRA),” said the President
