President Ruto Sued Over Board Appointment

Former Kenya National Trade Corporation (KNTC) chairman Captain. Paul Rukaria has sued President William Ruto and Attorney General Justin Muturi for revoking his appointment to the board.

Rukaria, a retired commissioned officer of the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF), was appointed by former President Uhuru Kenyatta on August 5, 2022, four days before the Presidential elections, for a three-year tenure.

President Ruto, on the other hand, canceled his nomination as head of the KNTC board of directors via a gazette notice on February 6, 2023.

President Ruto replaced him with Hussein Tene Debasso.

Aggrieved by the decision, Rukari sued the President and the Attorney General challenging the revocation.

He is seeking the appointment of his successor quashed and reinstated to the position.
